Tube bans Paddy Power 'man-boob' ad

London Underground has banned an ad by Irish bookmaker Paddy Power on the grounds that the ad had the ‘potential to offend public decency’.

The ad, promoting, features a man sitting alone on his sofa whilst appearing to breastfeed a baby, with the strapline “Where have all the women gone?”

Paddy Power are dumbfounded by the decision.

"We are completely astonished by the reaction of the London Underground to our advert," said a spokesman for the company.

"Fun is central to the Paddy Power brand and we strive to communicate this in all of our advertising."

Paddy Power are no strangers to controversy when it comes to their advertising.

In 2005, it had an ad banned by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) that depicted the classic Christian image of “The Last Supper” as a casino table.

Further back in 2001, the ASA banned an ad that featured two old grannies crossing the road, with cars approaching, which had odds over their heads.
