Trinidad Bans Slots and Online Gambling
Trinidad and Tobago is to ban online gambling as well as casino slot machines after its Prime Minister Patrick Manning said they encouraged vice. Speaking at his budget proposal speech, Manning called gaming activities a 'great concern' to the country and announced that he would also discontinue the countries national lottery.
No timetable was given for an Internet gambling ban, although the casino slot machines would be declared illegal almost immediately. The development comes just one week after the U.S. passed legislation to prohibit online gaming firms.
