Tasmania added to UK gambling white list
The UK’s Department for Culture, Media and Sport has confirmed that Tasmania has been added to its white list of jurisdictions able to advertise remote gambling services in the UK.
Tasmania has joined Alderney and the Isle of Man as the only jurisdictions on the white list. The white list is set aside by the UK government for jurisdictions outside the European Economic Area that can prove they have a thorough and responsible structure in place.
Meanwhile, Antigua and Kahnawake have been rejected a position on the white list.
However, just because you have been rejected once does not necessarily mean you will not be approved in the future. Kaye McDonald, director of gaming in Antigua, hopes that will be the case.
“It is an ongoing process. We continue to work with the UK government,” said McDonald, who is due to travel to London next week to discuss the matter.
