Superbowl XLI betting: Chicago v Indianapolis
Sunday’s Superbowl XLI in Miami will see the NFC North champs Chicago Bears take on the AFC South winners the Indianapolis Colts in what will be both teams first Superbowl appearance in a long, long time. The Bears last appeared in the Superbowl back in 1986 when they trounced New England by 46 points to 10. It will be the first appearance for the Colts since the franchise, which was then based in Baltimore, beat Dallas in Superbowl V in 1971.
The game is pitting the attacking verve of the Colts, orchestrated by quarterback Peyton Manning, against the defensive strength of the Bears, lead by Brian Urlacher. Indianapolis go into the game as 4/11 favourites with Ladbrokes having been ranked third in offence over the regular season.
However, in Chicago, they face a defensive powerhouse. Though their defense began to misfire at the end of the regular season, it certainly stepped up to the plate in the playoffs. None more so than in the NFC title game where they held the leagues best offence in the New Orleans Saints to a miserly 14 points. At 2/1 with Coral, they show real value.
