Stanley Leisure Unveils Leeds Casino Plans

Stanley Leisure, the UK’s largest casino operator has presented plans for a £125m casino complex in Leeds. The Leeds casino and resort would be situated next to the Leeds United soccer stadium, where Stanley Leisure has already bought out Leeds United Retail enabling the purchase of the site. The site will cost £5m, and has an area of seven acres.

Stanley Leisure is waiting for the UK gambling law reform to come through to get the final go-ahead, but the company has already started talks with potential partners for the casino, which would include a full hotel, several bars and restaurants, and designer shops. The casino could potentially be open for business by 2007, serving the 5 million potential gamblers within a 50 mile radius.
