Sexy VC Poker ads banned
The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), has banned an ad by VC Poker that implies online gambling can make you more likely to get laid.
The complaint was made by one person after seeing the VC Poker ad in the toilets of a pub. They took offence because it equated gambling with financial and sexual prowess.
The ad displayed a sexy blonde in lingerie holding a hand of cards with the strapline: “You love sex. She loves sex. You love money. She loves money. You have money. She loves you. See how much you have in common?”
The ASA said that the last line implied the notion that men “even if socially inept, could obtain sexual success”. VC Poker defended the ad by claiming that they were only to deliver the message that “everyone loves a winner”.
Gambling companies are not allowed to associate sexual success with their services. VC Poker have had their knuckles wrapped as a result for the second time in two years.
