Rugby Six Nations begins: Betting odds
The RBS 6 Nations rugby championship is to begin this Saturday with the opening game between Italy and France followed by England taking on Scotland at Twickenham. On Sunday, Wales take on Ireland at the Millennium stadium.
In a re-run of last summers football World Cup final, Italy will be hoping to upset the odds and score a major scalp in the form of the current six nation holders, France, and are at 11/2 with Tote Sport to win.
Tote Sport are also offering a very generous free bet over the weekend. If you place a 1st tryscorer bet of over £5 on the England v Scotland game tomorrow, you will receive another 1st tryscorer bet of the same value, completely free, in the Wales v Ireland game on Sunday.
A pair definitely worth a look at to score first are Josh Lewsey at 10/1 in the England game and Brian O’Driscoll at 11/1 to score first for Ireland against Wales.
England are overwhelming favourites, 1/8, to beat Scotland, 9/1, despite not being in the best of form over the past few games. However, the last time Scotland beat England at Twickenham was way back in 1983 so the best thing to do would be to focus on the winning margin or handicap markets.
England are 5/1 at Tote Sport to beat Scotland by between 16-20 points and in the handicap market, you can get 6/5 on England winning (-16 points).
