Playtech sits on the fence

Playtech says it will continue to get legal advice with regard to the impact of impending legislation that threatens to outlaw online gambling in the US.

Whilst Playtech is not an operator of online casinos, or a payment processor, it accepts that if the legislation becomes effective there would be an impact on certain casino licensees. Some of Playtech’s biggest licensees include Golden Palace and Casino Tropez.

The company says it’s going to focus on getting more and more non-US facing licensees to join the likes of Tote Casino and the soon to be launched The Ritz Casino.

Playtech said it would continue to evaluate the situation and will provide an update as and when appropriate.
