Plans for Wembley Super-Casino Axed
Quintain, the developer has opted to shelve plans to build a super-casino in the vicinity of the new Wembley Stadium. Quintain have come to this decision after it emerged that the local council withdrew its support for the proposed £335 million gambling venue. The developers are now planning to concentrate their efforts on using the 650,000 sq ft site for a none gambling entertainment, retail and residential development.
Qiuntain came to this decision a short while after the executive committee of Brent Council voted against the super-casino last week. The developer is now planning to build a 400 room hotel for the Hilton group, a revamped Wembley Arena concert venue and the UK’s largest cinema complex. The development is due for completion in 2010.
