PartyGaming and Empire go Head to Head

Today, in Gibraltar Empire Online has begun legal proceeding against its former network partner PartyGaming, owner and poerator of Party Poker. Empire are claiming breach of contract and are seeking damages and injuctive relief from Party Gaming.

Empire is claiming that PartyGaming breached Its contract by marketing to Empire’s best customers after breaking up the previous alliance. In a nutshell, poaching Empires top players.

The allegations are denied by PartyGaming. John Shepherd, director of communications at PartyGaming quipped, “We congratulate Empire on kick starting the pantomime season. We remain confident of a successful outcome to the litigation with Empire”

PartyGaming had been in talks just last month to buy Empire but talks collapsed within three weeks. Relations between the two online poker giants have clearly deteriorated from there…we will keep you posted on all developments.
