Northern Rock’s new boss penchant for poker
Ron Sandler, the man given the unenviable task of resurrecting the fortunes of the beleaguered Northern Rock, has listed poker as one of his favourite pastimes.
The 55 year old, who is credited as being the main man responsible for saving the insurance market Lloyd’s of London when it was on the brink of collapse in 1995, certainly has a hard task on his hands but is generally accepted as being a wise choice.
It is thought that Sandler does not like taking too many risks – something he saves for the poker table.
