More gambling firms ditch US players
In separate statements released this morning, Gambling and Leisure Plc, Fairground Gaming Plc and Fireone Group Plc said that they would immediately cease trading in the US once the unlawful internet gambling enforcement act had been ratified.
The legislation, due to be approved by Bush in the very near future, will make it illegal for banks and credit card companies to process gaming payments.
It was thought that companies such as Neteller and Fireone which have products that circumvent direct contact between banks and gambling sites would prosper in the future. However to date, Neteller is the only company that has publicly said it would still continue to take money from US customers.
