MGM Mirage to open first casino in Macau on Dec 18
Las Vegas casino developer MGM Mirage will open its first casino in the Chinese gambling resort of Macau on December 18 in a joint venture with Stanley Ho’s daughter, Pansy Ho.
The $1.25 billion MGM Grand Macau resort will comprise of 600 rooms, suites and villas, 375 table casino games, 900 slot machines and 16 top-notch private gambling rooms. The resort will also include a convention space, spa and pool facilities.
According to MGM Mirage spokesman Gordon Absher, the resort will be in keeping with the architecture associated with the former Portuguese colony’s history in mind.
Pansy Ho said the resort will be “the first of many partnerships” and that she and MGM are working with the Macau government through their joint venture MGM Grand Paradise LTD on the a second project on the Cotai Strip.
