Mega-casinos set for Atlantic City
Atlantic City will be a very different place come 2012 with the news that a handful of casino developers will be investing a total of $9 million on new projects which will change the landscape of the gambling city.
Among the major developments include those planned by Revel Entertainment, Pinnacle Entertainment and MGM Mirage.
Pinnacle Entertainment has remained coy over their plans and will not reveal what it will look like or what it will be called. All that is known is that it is due for opening in late 2011 or early 2012.
However, Revel Entertainment, partnering with investment powerhouse Morgan Stanley, has been more open about their plans – a $2 billion project simply called ‘Revel’ due for completion in late 2010. It will consist of 3,900 rooms, Atlantic City’s first wedding chapel and will have Atlantic City’s tallest tower at 710 feet – at least for a few years anyway.
That’s because MGM Mirage are planning the biggest project Atlantic City has ever seen. ‘MGM Mirage Atlantic City’ is due for opening in 2012 and will take the title from the ‘Revel’ as the largest building in the city. It will comprise of 3 towers, 3,000 rooms and the largest casino floor in Atlantic City – 5,000 slot machines, 200 table games and other attractions.
