Mecca Bingo Hopes to Dispel Bingo Stereotypes

Mecca, one of the leading UK bingo companies has appointed a new creative business consultancy, called Dave to help find new players for the companies bingo halls by ‘outdating the stereotypes’ that are associated with bingo. The repositioning will focus on Mecca’s traditional bingo clubs rather than focusing on their online bingo operation.

Pat Mitchinson, the marketing director of Mecca’s parent company, Rank Group said, “As the leisure sector changed, we must ensure we are equipped to capitalise on emerging consumer needs.”

This is the latest example of investment in the lucrative UK bingo market recently. The National Bingo Game Association recently reported that it was undergoing an identity revamp as part of a new drive to attract new players to the game. This revamp is to include an advertising campaign headed by the agency DFGW. In this campaign players were offered the opportunity to win a brand new house.
