Man gets life for lottery scam
A Chinese lottery ticket seller, who won the lottery many times, has finally run out of luck.
Zhao Liqun, who noticed a flaw in the Welfare Lottery “3D” system 2 years ago, made approximately 28 million yuan ($3.76 million). He found that he could still buy lottery tickets five minutes after the winning numbers had been announced, a court heard.
Mr Liqun, 36, executed the scam many times over, asking neighbours and friends to cash the “winning” tickets at the Welfare Lottery Centre and bring the money back to him.
The court jailed him for life for fraud and also confiscated all his property.
