London Casino applications mushroom
This week The Times Newspaper reported: Casino operator, London Clubs International is hoping to open a 19,000 sq ft luxury casino on London’s most exclusive road, Park Lane. The company is planning to spend between £8 million and £9 million creating the casino at the Grosvenor House Hotel. LCI hopes to cash in on the thousands of guests per year who use the hotel’s conference and banqueting facilities.
The decision rest now with Westminster council to whom LCI has applied for a full gaming licence after getting the green light from the Gambling Commission.
LCI’s executive chairman, Barry Hardy explained, “We will be applying to have an entrance to the casino through the hotel. We see a symbolic relationship with the hotel, which is one of London,’s biggest. Our application is based on the huge number of people who use the conference and banqueting facilities.”
LCI have a number of similar plans on the horizon and were recently granted a licence to develop a 55,000 sq ft casino in Leicester Square. There are also suggestions that the nearby Hippodrome nightclub may soon seek a casino licence….we will keep you posted.
