Las Vegas second to Google as top brand
In a survey carried out on Americans by New York design agency, Landor Associates, Las Vegas has come second to Google as the hottest brand of the year, beating the likes of YouTube, eBay and iPod.
According to Landor, the survey details considerable insight into consumer perceptions of brands and social trends, with a representative sample of 2,000 people being interviewed.
"With the multitude of brand choices available to consumers, this survey is an important indicator of consumer activity and its correlation to social behaviour," said Allen Adamson, Managing Director of Landor.
"Google has become the starting point for the internet experience of almost everyone - be it the chief executive or the head lavatory man. At Vegas, you've got families with kids sitting next to people who are there to escape from their families.”
"Companies that can provide a clear and consistent brand to consumers, as well as harmonise with social changes will find themselves in a promising position, as illustrated by top-ranking brands such as Google, Las Vegas and iPod,” Adamson continued.
It’s good news for Las Vegas, having recently being overtook by Macau as the biggest gambling destination in the world, as it proves that it is still up there as one of the most recognisable names in the world.
