Kevin Costner may be forced to sell casino
Movie star Kevin Costner may be forced to sell his Deadwood casino, the Midnight Star, after a judge issued an order yesterday that appoints a trustee to liquidate the casino, sports bar and restaurant complex.
Circuit Judge Warren G. Johnson decreed that Costner must pay $153, 649 to his minor partners in the casino before he can become the sole owner.
Costner fired Francis and Carla Caneva in 2004 but the pair still own 6.5 per cent in the business.
Costner was told in 2006 by the state Supreme Court that he can be forced to sell the casino if he does not pay them.
