Harrah’s to reveal Atlantic City plans
Harrah’s Entertainment Inc., the world’s largest casino operator, has announced that it will reveal its new $550 million expansion plans of its Atlantic City casino on February 18th.
The first instance of the project will include a 620-seat buffet, a retail area and the redevelopment of an existing buffet area into a space for 400 new slot machines, ten table games and a player’s lounge.
The main feature of the project will be a new 961-room, 44-story hotel tower. The building will offer 2,272 rooms and will be Atlantic City’s tallest hotel casino. The new tower is set to be complete in the middle of next year, Harrah’s said.
Once the expansion is complete, the casino floor will be increased by 16,500 square feet to a total of 165,700 square feet.
Following the announcement, shares rose in Harrah’s by five cents on the New York Stock Exchange, closing at $84.89.
