Grand-daddy wins Grand Prizes
What do you do when you in $4.6 million in 1989 in playing on IGT’s (International Game Technology) Megabucks slot machine?
You do it again…but for more money!
Elmer Sherwin was at the Mirage Hotel and Casino resort in Las Vegas in 1989 when he won $4.6 million playing the Megabucks slot machine. Almost two decades later and he has repeated this unheard of feat, now in his early 90s.
Since his first success he had a hunger to repeat the achievement, which he now has, this time at the Cannery Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas for a whopping $21.1 million.
“I’m glad I finally hit as I’ve been trying to do it again!” Sherwin revealed.
Megabucks is a typical traditional slot machine with a progressive jackpot. To even be eligible to win the top prize you need to be spinning with a max bet of $3.00 and have your fingers crossed to drop the Megabucks logos across the payline.
Elmer Sherwin has beaten the odds of over ten million to one this week to be the first double winner of the same machine. One wonders what the odds are for him to do it again… and how long it could take this time!
