Gala interested in Tote
Gala have announced that they are willing to make an offer for the state-owned bookmaker, Tote. Gala’s chief executive Neil Goulden has said that they would make a bid for the bookmaker as soon as it becomes available and that the Government probably had no other option but to auction off Tote.
"We're keen to buy it and we're sitting here waiting for the government to decide what they're going to do," he said.
Goulden added that Gala had 'absolutely no desire' to purchase any of Britain’s listed online companies, stating that it did not need the technology and customers would find their services anyway.
Such a statement is backed up by the figures; Gala Bingo, launched in April, has quadrupled profit expectations, taking around £120,000 every night.
