Clooney has bachelorhood bet with Pfeiffer
George Clooney, Hollywood’s most-eligible bachelor and star of the Oceans Eleven series of films, has 100,000 reasons not to get married. If Clooney ever decided to tie the knot, he will have to pay Michelle Pfeiffer and Nicole Kidman $100,000.
Michelle Pfeiffer revealed the wacky bet to Jonathon Ross on his Friday night chat show.
The Hollywood trio made the initial bet before 2000 for the relatively smaller sum of $100.
"I bet him he would get married and he keeps inflating the bet from $US100 to $US100,000,” Pfeiffer told Ross.
“But I still think he will – he's a handsome devil. He's a just a great guy and great with kids.”
Clooney, 46, who is not adverse to a bet from time to time, has been single for 15 years since his divorce from actress Talia Balsam. Soon after that, Nicole Kidman bet Clooney $10,000 that he would be a father by his 40th birthday.
Clooney’s 40th came along and Kidman duly sent Clooney a cheque for his winnings – only for Clooney to send it back with a note saying, “Double or nothing for the next ten years.”
However, recent sightings of Clooney with a new companion, Sarah Larson, may lead to Clooney reaching for his wallet sooner than anyone expects.
