Cheltenham Festival: Thursday betting odds
Following the cancellation of yesterday’s racing at Cheltenham due to high winds and rain, the bookies are expecting a betting bonanza today with ten races on the card.
The biggest race of the day is the 2.20 Queen Mother Champion Chase in which Voy Por Ustedes starts at slight favourite at 11/4 ahead of Master Minded at 3/1.
However, defending champion Voy Por Ustedes, trained by Alan King, was beaten by Master Minded in the Game Spirit Chase just last month. Nevertheless, Voy’s jockey Robert Thornton remains confident.
"They can carry on writing him off, that's fine by me as I think he's my best chance (of the week)," Thornton said.
"They hadn't gone that quick early in the Game Spirit and from my point of view we could have done with an end-to-end gallop. He's a solid two-miler and he sees out the trip very well and they will go a good clip at Cheltenham. I'm sure he'll be bang there at the last."
Also in the running are Twist Magic at 9/2 and Tamarinbleu at 4/1. Both have strong credentials but whether they can last the pace and possess the stamina is another matter.
