Casino worker arrested for arson

Theodore Calvin Burfoot, 22, was arrested by Reno fire investigators yesterday on suspicions of two counts of arson at the Legacy Resort Casino where he worked.

Each charge of arson holds a penalty of two to fifteen years and a potential fine of up to $15,000.

Fire investigators suspect Burfoot guilty of setting alight a fire in the hotel utility and storage room on February 6, causing approximately $20,000 in damage. Although the sprinkler system held the fire within that room, water damage occurred in the penthouses below.

Burfoot is also accused of setting a fire in a stairwell on January 25.
