Bookmaker opens more betting shops in Spain

UK bookmaker William Hill has continued its assault on the Spanish betting market after it announced it will open four new betting centres in Madrid in its joint venture with Codere.

The Spanish betting market is being heavily targeted by all the big European bookmakers who are seeking strategic affiliations with Spanish partners.

Codere, who are the first Spanish gambling company to quote on the Spanish stock market, are in a better position than most to take advantage of a growing market.

A recent study in Spain reported that Spanish casinos will grow five per cent in 2008 and 10 per cent in 2009.
