Would you bet on Ronnie to hit another 147?
Maverick snooker genius Ronnie O’Sullivan hit a record ninth competitive maximum break yesterday to seal a 13-7 win over Welshman Mark Williams and book a place in the quarter-finals of the World Championships.
Following that magnificent display, bookmaker William Hill has offered odds of 3/1 that Rocket Ronnie will rack up another maximum and 9/4 that anyone else will score a 147.
If either happens, William Hill will have to payout big to one punter who placed a £1,000 wager before the start of the competition, at odds of 16/1, that two or more maximum breaks will be made during the tournament.
O’Sullivan is set to meet the Chinese whiz-kid Liang Wenbo in what is set to be an explosive affair of attacking, aggressive play.
O’Sullivan is favourite to win the tournament at 11/8 whilst Liang Wenbo is at interesting odds of 22/1.
