888 pot deal with Georgica
Gaming company 888 has announced a deal with Georgica PLC to provide the company that owns Riley snooker and pool halls across the country with use of its online poker facilities.
Riley, who currently has approximately 525,000 members, is currently running face-to-face poker tournaments in its 168 snooker and pool halls, so this new deal provides an opportunity to expand and improve the allure of the tournaments. Initially, Riley will launch the poker website, rileyspoker.com, powered by 888.
“You could do the qualifiers online and continue the rest of the tournament off line," said 888 Chief Executive Gigi Levy.
"We'll get a revenue share from rileyspoker.com," Levy added. "This will be a good, cheap customer acquisition channel, with a unique customer experience."
The three-year deal will see the companies running online and offline tournaments, including poker league tables.
