Casino customer drives car at Grosvenor Casino staff
On Sunday morning, a disgruntled punter is alleged to have driven his car at security staff at Grosvenor Casino Coventry, who had ejected him earlier from the casino after a scuffle.
Usually all the drama at a casino is carried out at the tables, whether it is blackjack, poker or craps, it is true to say that emotions can sometimes run high. However at the Grosvenor Casino in Coventry, the games were not the only place to see some nail-biting action.
The story published in the Coventry Telegraph, reports that one man was injured after being hit by the Jag, at approximately 3 am in the morning. Police were called but by the time they arrived the driver of the car had fled the scene, after crashing into a bollard and security barrier.
The police later arrested a 26 year old man at a house in Alderman's Green, in connection with the attack. The man was later released on bail, pending investigations into an attempted wounding and drink-driving charge.
Grosvenor Casino played down the drama stating that no one was hurt in the incident, although the newspaper reports that a West Midlands ambulance did attend the scene and one person was injured.
A Grosvenor Casino spokesperson said that their 'priority is the safety of staff and customers'.
