Gigi Levy, chief executive of 888, has announced that he will be leaving the online gambling company. Levy has been at 888 since 2007 and has announced that he plans to pursue other interests outside of online gambling when he leaves.
888 are the operators of 888 online casino and are currently in talks with Ladbrokes about being taken over by the British bookmaker. Rumours about Levy’s departure include that it was caused by this deal. Meanwhile, City A.M attributed Levy’s dramatic departure to a disagreement between the two founding families of 888.
Despite Levy’s departure, talks between 888 and Ladbrokes are still thought to be in full flow, but no word has been heard as yet about the progress of these talks. 888 made sure that they let all of their customers know that their operations would not be affected by the change in personnel at the top of the company.
