With just ten days to go until the 83rd Academy Awards (or Oscars as they’re often known) take place at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, Paddy Power are making sure that punters are able to bet on every award possible.
Current markets being offered on the bookmaker’s website include Best Picture, Best Director, Best Documentary Feature and Best Animated Short Film. Of these, the most prestigious award is the Best Picture category with two films leading the way in the eyes of the bookmaker.
These are The King’s Speech and the Social Network, which are priced at 1/6 and 4/1 to win while other films such as Inception, Toy Story 3 and 127 Hours are some way back at 100/1.
According to the Irish bookmaker it would seem as if some of the awards on offer are already decided with Colin Firth being priced at 1/50 to win best actor for his role in The King’s Speech. Surely there must be a surprise or two on the horizon?
