British bookmaker and online casino operator, William Hill, has released figures that show an 80% increase in operating profit for the third quarter of this year.
Net revenue for the entire William Hill Group was also up by 22% compared with figures from last year, but the clear star earner was the group’s online services. William Hill’s list of online products consists of a sports book, bingo services and an online casino.
William Hill’s online casino is powered by Playtech software and while the group as a whole received positive results, the online casino actually showed a decrease of 2% in revenue which has been attributed to the French closure. The major reason for the increase in figures is the World Cup, which helped online sports book revenue to increase an incredible 287% from the same period in 2009.
The CEO of William Hill, Ralph Topping, was obviously pleased with the figures and said: “We have seen ongoing positive performance from our growing online business”.
