Following a “horrible” 2010 for 888 Holdings, CEO Gigi Levy has confirmed that 888 will be continuing with its current strategy to increase revenue and boost its bottom line.
Rather than cut costs, 888 have continued on the offensive and have identified poker as the main cause of poor performance this year. Although poker only makes up 15% of 888’s product split, compared to 50% casino and 25% bingo, the decline in the online poker market as well as the 2010 World Cup has hit 888 hard.
Meanwhile, 888 Casino has been going from strength to strength with many new games such as Fantastic Four and Spiderman appearing as well as the welcoming back of the largest online jackpot of £8,888,888. A large advertising campaign has been employed to raise awareness of this latest promotion with Dom Joly starring in 888 TV adverts as well as various online banners.
With the success of the online casino product and improvements being made on poker products, Levy is confident of a turnaround in fortunes for the company and has been quoted as saying: “look out for some changes”.
