Research conducted by Nielsen Media Research group has found that almost half of the online gambling population is female. These results have surprised many industry officials and are said to be having a substantial effect on casino owners and marketers.
While online gambling has traditionally been aimed at men, it seems as if online casinos are beginning to focus on attracting female players by using graphics, games and promotions that are intended to interest women.
Some casinos have even gone as far as creating gender-specific pages so customers have a choice when the originally land on a casino website. Casinos such as these claim the potential female online gambling market is huge and that they will do anything they can in order to attract women to play at their site.
While women are normally associated with online bingo, it appears as if this trend is changing and as a result the number of total casino players could be set to rise substantially.
